Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes

Never really thought about cleaning my makeup brushes. I always used the same makeup on them.  What I didn't think about was all the dirt and grime on the brushes.....

I had watched tutorials on how to clean my beauty blender on youtube.  After noticing all the foundation just running out of the sponge as I was washing it with a cleanser, I knew I should start caring for my brushes.

How I Clean My Brushes:

1. Get the brush damp just a little.
2. Put a nickel size amount of cleanser in your palm (I use Philosophy's Purity-one-step facial cleanser).
3. Rub the brush on your palm and work the cleanser though it.
4. Rinse out the cleanser, while squeezing the grime out of your brush (you will see the powder, eye shadow and dirt come right now.
5. Continue to do this until it rinses out clean.
6. Lay brushes flat on a clean washcloth.
7. Repeat at least once a week.

Ulta Haul

Yes, I know I have a major problem.  I feel that I go shopping wayyy too much for makeup and not enough clothes shopping ;)

Just got back from a trip to Ulta...looking forward to the one by my house to open, so I don't have to drive so far.

I knew going there today that I needed to pick up makeup remover wipes....my favorite..Simple Cleansing facial wipes (@beautybaby44 got me hooked).  These are the best makeup remover wipes I've ever tired, not only do they get the job done and make you feel that you got all the makeup off your face, but they are really gentle on the skin and moisturizing! Today is the last day for the buy 1, get one 50% off  Great deal!

Last week I purchased a sample size pouch of Macadamia Deep Repair Masque.  I use heat on my hair every day and lots of product, so I thought it was a good thing to try.  Hoping to test it out tomorrow..I'll let you know what I think.  Once I noticed that you had to comb it through your hair...I figured I needed to get a new comb that didn't have any junk on it.  I just picked up an Ulta Brand Comb.

Also, I've been hearing a lot of gurus' talking about lip crayons...chubby sticks...whatever you want to call them...I was pretty curious about them.  I didn't want to spend a lot of money on one, not being able to test the color first.  When I was close to the checkout, I noticed that the Ulta Brand had one on sale for $2, plus I had a coupon, so it was under $2!!!  Not a huge fan of the color, but since the sale was awesome, they were pretty picked over. I'll try it and see if its something I would re-purchase or maybe even in a different brand.

Last, but not least...my favorite item in the purchase (helps that the packaging is adorable!) Benefit  Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer   Will be testing it out for sure tomorrow!  Was a little bummed though, I was suppose to get a free gift with this purchase...yet when I asked the woman, she said they ran out of it, so she offered me one little foundation sample...I guess something is better than nothing..but still.  Don't advertise the free gift, if you run out of it.

Overall, very excited to use my new products! (reviews in the near future)

Pinterest....My Obsession :)

Since I haven't been posting anything regarding the home, I thought I would just give the link to my pinterest account. http://pinterest.com/holsnicole/boards/

I am on this site ALOT and I do mean ALOT!  I pin everything from home things, stuff that I just love, stuff that's actually my style and of course funny things.

As you may know the recipes that are on Pinterest don't always turn out...so baker beware (ie-inside out s'more bars sound so good, yet turn out overly fudgy and raw :( )

Happy Pinning!

Wildflower Cases

I've been seeing these cases a lot lately on different youtube videos, magazines, instagram, etc...  Was curious if they are worth the price?  Thoughts?  I think their cute...not a huge fan of the studding, but some styles are okay.

Want Flawless Foundation?!?!?.....

Try the Balm time Balm foundation!

I first purchased this foundation on Hautelook - it was a great price and I thought why not try a new product.  I was in between foundations and was having a hard time finding one that covered my imperfections, but yet didn't look cakey.

Well, I finally found one!  I get so many compliments on how flawless my skin looks and it stays on my face ALL day, which is the best part!

Whether you get it at a discounted rate on HauteLook (when they do have it) or pay full price-you are for sure getting your monies worth!

Benefit Brand-The Best Brand

I don't even know where to start...you spend years testing out various makeup brands and products until you find a line that you use more than just one product.  Well, I think I finally found that brand..Benefit!

I became obsessed with this brand after trying my first product, which was-BADgal Lash mascara. It was a trial size that I received from Sephora That is when it all started and I started buying full size products from that day.

I feel you get your monies worth in every product and it helps that their packaging is adorable!  (they must have genius' working there ;) )

Can't wait to try their newest product-Stay Flawless 15 Hour Face Primer

Here are just a few products that I recommend (that I use everyday)....

Boi~ing Concealer

Hoola Bronzing Powder

Dandelion Brightening Face Powder

It's Potent! Eye Cream

Triple Performing Moisturize Facial Emulsion

Enough talking about this brand...go out and try it for yourself..you won't be disappointed!
